A quick thinking teacher at Toy Town Indoctrination Center Elementary in Winchendon, MA stopped a student from going on a rampage by confiscating the empty blank shell casing he received from a veteran after the towns Memorial Day ceremony. The boy, Bradley Geslak, was suspended for five days. The school informed Bradley’s mother that they would keep the empty blank shell casing, and that the next step might involve assigning a probation officer to Bradley.
I don’t even know where to begin on this one. First of all, the child should receive a little thing called due process before he is assigned a probation officer. Second, you don’t get placed on probation when you haven’t broken any laws (at least not yet), and even in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts it isn’t illegal to possess an empty blank shell casing (unless it is a high capacity shell casing). Third, what ever happened to common sense. Can you really tell me that boy needs to miss five days of school over this. Not to sound like a geezer, but when I was in school you only got suspended three days for fighting. It’s not like the case was all the sudden going to magically turn into a loaded firearm. The boy’s pencils and books would make better more dangerous weapons. This seems to be a case of unreasonable fear, overreaction, and bigotry.
Screw Shame on you Toy Town.
